Opie And Andy Fans Freak Out

Upset at the decision to suspend Opie and Andy, fans are doing the only thing they know how to do to make a difference, they're hitting back by taking money out of *The Man's* pocket:

Unhappy with XM Radio’s decision to suspend Opie and Anthony, fans are canceling subscriptions by the hundreds, smashing satellite radio receivers and posting tons of angry comments. There are also a reports of companies pulling ads.

If you look back at the posts I've put up about these two losers over the last few weeks you might think that I'm all for having their non-funny selves fired. Well, I'm not.

I don't believe Opie and Andy, or Imus, or any other 4 lettered DJ's should be canned for expressing themselves. We're really on a slippery slope when we start firing people for expressing their opinions.

Opie and Andy are on satellite radio, which doesn't adhere to the same rules public radio does. What Opie and Andy did and said were disgusting and horrible, but they shouldn't be canned for saying/doing it. If what they did and said was so bad, fans will boycott the stations and teach them a hard financial lesson. That's the way things work.

Opie and Andy should be fired because they suck, not because they said what they said. However, I have no doubt that if these two assholes joked about raping and beating three liberal women...like Hillary Clinton, any Kennedy and let's just say Al Gores wife, they would be fishing their heads out of their asses while waiting for a cheque in the pogie line.

Same goes for that ugly bastard Imus. What he said was about a billion times less gross and offensive than what those other two mutts said. The difference being is that Imus joked about a minority, which is a capital offense dontchaknow.

Where do we draw the line at what is acceptable? Well, we certainly can't let people yell fire in a theatre. We can't have people incite violence and call for the death of people. However, common sense tells us that saying merely obnoxious things shouldn't be cause for dismissal, we live in a semi-free society for God's sake.

Let the people speak. If what Opie and Andy and Imus said was terrible, let society sort things out. That's the natural way.
