Opie and The Other Goof Are Free---Hallelujuah

Although Opie and Andy have been suspended for 30 days (no word on whether it's with or without pay), a great thing happened on the way to the radio station--The line in the sand has been drawn, and it says that making fun of minorities will get you fired, making fun of women will get you fired...but making fun of women getting raped and assaulted is fair game, and possibly good for ratings:

Last month, cable network MSNBC dropped its simulcast of Imus' show, then CBS Radio fired him for using racist and sexist terms to describe the Rutgers women's basketball team.

Opie and Anthony also host a syndicated, tamer terrestrial radio program for CBS. Opie and Anthony will be on the air for that program as scheduled Wednesday morning, CBS Radio said Tuesday.

I know, there is a big difference between the two incidences, Imus said the words *nappy headed hoes*, while Opie and Andy merely laughed at suggestions of women being raped and having their heads caved in by a man.

Good for CBS not to fire Opie and Andy, good for them to show the world that they have some backbone. And good for Opie and Andy (quite possibly the gayest names in showbiz), for having the foresight not to call the assaulted and raped women in question, nappy headed hoes.

Cuz that would have crossed the line.
