Mitchieville 2008 Election - Reg's Hope For Change

After weighing the pro's and con's of the various contenders for the office  'Mayor of Mitchieville' I have hastily made my choice.  I, Reg Reginaldson, Minister of Munitions, Textiles As It Pertains To Munitions Production, and Mitchieville Keg Restaurant Franchise Holder, hereby endorse LISA FOGGY for Mayor of Mitchieville.

I'm sure long time readers of Mitchieville will be shocked by this endorsement. Lisa and I have been battling on this sacred and hallowed blog for nearly 2 years now. Despite her cruel comments a couple months back about the reason for my current lack of female company in my life, I have chosen to forgive.  Forgiving is what good people do. I have come to realize that a woman as skilled as Lisa can give a man like myself that one thing The Mayor and Fenris never could: cooking lessons.

Indeed, Lisa knows that her place is in her kitchen.  Lisa is a woman who can cook, and that my friends is proof of her solid anti-feminist social conservative credentials.  I  made a point of vetting her various blogs for almost 3 minutes tonight and with that exhaustive research complete I feel I can say that I feel the same way that Lisa feels or claims to feel with regards to the important issues facing Mitchieville in the one or two posts I actually bothered to read.  These clear and well defined policies of Lisa Foggy bodes well for the future of Mitchieville.

My Pro-Lisa Choice decision is more than about than pure policy though. Lisa is the senior blogger at The London Fog, and as such Lisa has been in command of the Home Guard there for the past 2 years now!  Let us not forget that London shares a border with Mitchieville's mortal enemy - Fostertown - which of course means that Lisa is an expert dealing with defence issues.  What about foreign affairs you say?  Lisa is an expert at cooking African, Indian, Thai, Turkish, Greek, Mexican and Eastern European food.  With this kind of extensive international cooking experience Lisa shouldn't be running for mayor, she should be running for leader of the free world!

I've only met Lisa in person twice, but I have a gut instinct that LISA FOGGY is the right woman for the job.  Sure I actually chat with LINDS a couple times a week, and comment regularly at Ice Princess, but my gut says Lisa.  I should add that Lisa's husband, Mapmaster, a champion cartographer, is as handsome as he is handy.  And their pet cats, Cooter, Rosco, Enos, and Cletus, are well loved and I'm pretty sure all have either been spayed or neutered lest there be any kittens born during what would already be a stressful campaign.  I feel I can say with 1000% confidence that Lisa Foggy is the best choice for Mayor of Mitchieville.

Know that Service Hopes First for Change, VOTE LISA FOGGY on October 14!

Friday Morning Female Flesh

Not much time for a post today folks. His Worship has ordered me to get my arse to Mitchieville for early afternoon and it is a three hour drive so without delay her she is: Jessica Jessica2

I'm 99% sure that I poached sultry young Jessica from the pages of Steamboat McGoo's Blog.  Speaking of poached, it's time for some breakfast.

I'll do my best to Liveblog various events over the weekend and with the help of Lisa Foggy maybe even get a picture or two posted for everyone.   Have a safe weekend!

Around The Cabinet In 60 Seconds

I need to come up with a better post title for this segment, maybe that's something the good folks of Mitchieville can help me with. Or not. I know you're busy. Yup, no pressure.

We have a full slate to go through, so without further ado, let's go around the Cabinet in 60 seconds--seriously, that is one terrible title.

Mitchieville welcomes a new Cabinet Minister into the fold, his name is Todd, he's from Australia and his blog is called Rebellion. Todd runs a fantastic site, a site where I'm sure I will steal many articles from over the next few years. He's a great writer with a unique style of writing. I'm sure you'll dig it, he's one of us...wink wink, nudge nudge.

There are only a few days left in Blackuary, but what a month it has been. Two Dogs has a YouTube post up today about Barack Obama (pbuh)that is sure to blow your fucking mind. Honestly, I watched it an hour ago and I still have the shivers. For all you Americans who are going to vote *For change*, be careful what you wish for.

Hillary and Obama seem a little peeved about the NAFTA agreement and have said that if there aren't major changes implemented to it, they will scrap the whole deal. This is where Chris Taylor comes in and basically rips her majesty and his highness a new one. I haven't seen Chris use any swear words before today, now I've seen him use three. In one post. And as a bonus, in the next post he asks Fenris to help with a meme. Oooooh, Fenris!!

Are the members of the British National Party more like Canadian Conservatives as the Red Story states, or are they more like Canadian Liberals, as Richard, from Let Freedom Reign says? Hmmmmmm, which one, which one---you'll want to check out the comment section too, if you like to see what Red Tory sounds like when he becomes unglued. Which is nothing new. Fenris, didn't you eulogize him already??!!

Eat that. Remember, if you have a post or an article that you would like to share, please send it along to me and I'll be happy to include you next week.

Around The Cabinet In 60 Seconds

In the words of the great Martin Luther King Jr., "Blogging: It's a real son of a bitch". A great man with some great words.

So much has happened in the last week in the ole blogosphere that I'm not sure where to start. Fights were a brewing, peoples they was a screamin', little Timmy got the snot kicked out of him. What a week!

And speaking of freshly brewed coffee, have you been to DINO's site lately? Let me try to recap what the last few weeks have been like for the hardest working blogger in the blogosphere: 1) Gets threatened by a member of the Religion Of Piece

2) Gets Warren Kinsella pissed at him (to be fair though, Warren has been bleeding like a beotch for a long time now)

3) Gets threatened again by Warren, who now wants to serve papers on DINO (when will the bleeding stop, Warren?)

If you want to know where the action is, try starting with those links above.

J.M Heinrich, a long time Mitchieville reader, commenter, and all around good human, sent me a link that I just loved. It's on the phenomenon of "pee shivers", and answers the question all men have asked themselves at least 5000 times in their life: Why do I shiver when I pee? Thanks, J,M.!

I always thought that when it comes to bizarre American politics, Berkely stood head and shoulders above all the other cities in the States. I was wrong. You don't have to look any further than Albany to see how progressives are making their corner of the world into a Utopia. Can't have a tax on illegal drugs because it impacts drug dealers too hard? Welcome to Albany. Ya, it's confusing, but the Leather Penguin sorts it all out.

2007 Nobel Literature Prize winner Doris Lessing stated that if Barack Obama (pbuh) wins the Presidency, it won't bode well for him as the chances are good that he will be assassinated. You see, Doris thinks that because Barack Obama (pbuh) is black, someone (we know who she is inferring) will murder him. Rodger, the King Of France puts an historical perspective of the six assassinated/nearly assassinated Presidents and who did the dirty on them.

Pseudonym (if that's his real name--I never get tired of that joke), has the scoop on the recently announced Gary Coleman marriage to a woman twice as young and twice as tall as him. And what a winner Gary has chosen to be his love interest. Yup, it hardly looks as if someone smacked her face in with a bag of hammers. Love is blind though!

Around the Cabinet is now finished. I hope you enjoyed the linkage that I have given you today, there are some gems in there, that's for sure. Stop by all the sidebarians and have a look at what is being written up.

If you have a post you would like me to put up, or if you see something you would like to share with your constituency, send it along to me, I'd be more than happy to tell the small corner of our world about it.

Around The Cabinet In 60 Seconds

Looking around the Cabinet and Senate this week, I have to say that there has been a bumpercrop of good posts. I'm not sure if I spelled bumpercrop correctly, it could possibly be bumper-crop, or bumper crop. Maybe I just made that word up, it doesn't look right on my monitor. That's beside the point though, let's have a peak at some good writin's!

We start off with Steamboat McGoo, always a fun place to visit. Except, Steamboat is sicker than shit (physically), yet, still managed to make me chuckle with an excellent post about the true story of a Utah Teen Charged With Raping Dog in ‘Unspeakable Ways’. I'm not sure I want to describe the post any more than I have to, it's best just to visit and read it.

Mitchieville's Minister of Defence has a post up about something that has been rattling around my head for some time: Women voters. Steve's post is more than just about women voters, it's about people who vote for a certain person because they are a woman, or black, or has a large tongue, basically anything that identifies that person to themselves. Steve's post will make more sense than my description of his post.

You can pretty much pick anything from the Drunken Stepfather's site and it will be funny. Jesus' post regarding Natasha Bedingfield was one of those posts where he really drives home the visual. Generally, that means you might throw up a little in your mouth. Which is also funny.

For anyone that's a new parent, or plans on kidnapping a baby anytime soon, my Campaign Manager, Chris Strange, has some excellent reading on *New Parenting*. I'm telling you right now, Chris cares too much, he really is too good to you people.

Follow this link to The Leather Penguin, and I guarantee it will make you a happier person. Num num num. TLP loves when I talk stupid.

As always, I suggest having a look at all the links on the sidebar. Go to the sites and leave comments. Leaving comments gives blog writers encouragement. That's why I'm suicidal on a daily basis. It's true about the comments though, read the sites, leave a comment and you will have done something relatively insignificant in the grand scheme of things, but significant for one person for one second of one day.

Honest to God, I have no idea what the hell I'm writing about any more.

Around The Cabinet In 60 Seconds

After much consideration and consultation (meaning, after a couple drinks with Fenris and Reg), we decided that we are ready to add a few new members to Mitchieville's Cabinet.

We are very pleased to announce that the first newest member to Cabinet is Matt, from Still a Wasp (God, Guns, and Government). Generally, we don't add someone onto our Cabinet unless they have been blogging for about 6 months. But we have a good feeling about Matt, we like his writing, he has a good sense of humour, and most importantly, Matt contributed significantly in monetary terms to The Mayor's re-election campaign. Welcome aboard, Matt!

The next addition to Cabinet goes by the name of Pseudonym. However, I don't think that's his real name, I think that may just be a pseudonym. Pseud has been blogging a long time and has a real top-notch, quality blog that's a fun, daily read. I'm looking forward to working with Pseud for many years to come. Now, I mentioned that Pseud was a man, but that hasn't been confirmed, so, let me just say that who and whatever you are, Pseud, welcome the hell aboard.

Two Dogs wrote a post way back on Wednesday, February 01, 2006, called, "And Now, I Have Renamed February "Blackuary", and it is one of the funnier posts I have read since God knows when. I'm not sure how it escaped me the first time, but I was lucky enough to spot it this time around. Two Dogs has renamed all the calendar months to fit into the politically correct code that should be used at all times. This is a great original post that I hope gets passed around the blogoshere.

How cold is it right now in certain parts of Canada? According to the hardest working blogger in the universe and my friend OMMAG, it's pretty effin' cold. Take a trip over to OMMAG's site and see how cold it actually is and the horrible affect it's having on momma earth. Is it affect or effect? I always fuck that up.

My friend Joel Johannesen, from Proud To Be Canadian, has really been keeping on top of things regarding the race to be the next President of the USA. He has a good little post out comparing the popularity of McCain vs Hitlery and McCain vs Obama (pbuh). You might be surprised who is out in the lead in those two polls. Joel has the goods, go have a boo.

I encourage every Mitchievillian to take 10 minutes each day and have a look at the various sites on our sidebar. Leave comments and give encouragement to the great writers that grace this site each and every day.

Also, if you have a blog and want a plug, send me a post or an article you wrote and I'll be glad to share it with my constituents.

Around The Cabinet In 60 Seconds

We start off today's tour of Mitchieville's Cabinet by visiting Patrick Hillman. It's his Birthday! 12 days ago. Man, is it ever uncomfortable in here all of a sudden. I'm sure Patrick will forgive me for not wishing him a Happy Birthday earlier. I mean, I did send him a card. With $50 in it. And a coupon to Jack Astor's. Boy, I sure hope Canada Post didn't fuck that up. Anyway, Happy Birthday, Patrick, you know how much we love ya around here.

Have you been to Taylor & Company yet? You have? Well then, you're one smart cookie. Chris is one of our newest, perhaps even our newest, appointee to Cabinet. And damn it all, Chris is doing a bang-up job. Chris is a great writer and a fellow Scarberian. If you enjoyed Reg's rant today on Pamela Wallin and Afghanistan, then you're really going to like Chris' take on Mr. Manley's paper on Afghanistan that was released a few short days ago. Required reading for anyone that has even the slightest interest in Canada's role overseas.

Why are the writers in Hollyweird striking? Why does the Pope shit in the woods? Well, my brutha from a different baby mutha has the answer as to why the writers in Hollyweird are striking, and, the Pope shits in the woods because he has a terrible hygiene problem. Oh shut up, I'm Presbyterian, what the hell do I care if I offend you?

The hardest working man in the blogosphere has a post up that encompasses everything you want to know about the HRC hearing against Ezra Levant, among other juicy tidbits that you should not miss. Another day, another home run for Dino. And remember, drive an extra mile in your SUV for Winnipeg. What's the temp there today, Dino, -47?

Alice The Camel found out, through reputable sources (in the human form), that British Ministers have adopted a new language for declarations on Islamic terrorism.
In future, fanatics will be referred to as...Alice has the answer.

As always, it was wonderful taking a trip around Mitchieville's Cabinet with you. I highly recommend visiting everyone on the sidebar, get acquainted with these good folks and enjoy the hell out of their writings.

**I nearly forgot to mention. This *Around the Cabinet* business is going to be a regular weekly post. If you have written something and would like me to bring attention to it, I would be more than happy to post it. I'm going to try to post this segment every Wednesday, so feel free to send me what you have.

Around The Cabinet In 60 Seconds

We start off today's tour of Mitchieville's Cabinet by visiting Unambiguously Ambidextrous. Raphael Alexander welcomed his fourth child into the world, a sweetheart named Amalia Sofia. Congratulations go out to Raphael and his family.

And while you're at Raphael's site, have a boo at his post, entitled, Internet War Pornography. A fine piece of writing, for sure.

I was hanging out at Carin's site today and I came across a post that made me smile with a big ole stupid toothy grin. The post centers around Carin's theory that anyone that starts out a conversation with the words "I've been a lifelong Republican", is, as she states, "full of shit".

It started when Carin wanted to read a few reviews of Jonah Goldbergs new book and came across a slew of reviewers that said the book was crap--lifelong Republicans, of course. Well, one reviewer who goes by the name of *Tom*, said he was a lifelong Republican and a Rush fan, but he hated Jonah's book. Well guess what? Carin did a little investigating and found out that buddy is so full of shit his mommas eyes are brown. Then Carin proceeds to rip buddy a new one. What a great day it was today!

The hardest working person in the blogosphere, the Marginalized ACTION Dinosaur, has found who the model was for the most famous painting in the word, the Mona Lisa. Hahaha, no, it wasn't dmorris, you're not even close.

Lisa has a lovely little dish up on her site that is called, "Chickpeas with Paneer Sauce". I love chickpeas, plus the word chickpea is as cute as it gets. "My little chickpea. I love you, my little chickpea. Come here and give me a kiss, you little chickpea". Ya, I sure do love chickpeas.

In the States you have mammoth conservative radio stars like Rush and Savage and the likes. In Canada we have Adler. Who, in my opinion, is pretty effin' great. Well, it seems Adler decided to borrow Richards post, but decided not to give him credit. Thanks, Adler. Great post, Richard!
