MindTrap Friday The 13th

I had a dream early this morning that I was in a plane crash. You would think a dream like that would be pretty scary, but I wasn't frightened at all. As a matter of fact, when the plane was spiraling to the ground I was cracking jokes to the terrified lady beside me, telling her that maybe the impact of the crash might improve her face. Why I would say something so terrible to someone who is about to die is beyond me, but that's what happened. History will judge me accordingly.

This morning I was driving to Tim Horton's and a black cat ran right in front of my truck, unfortunately I missed it, but I'm sure it's a sign. When I got to Timmy's, a disgusting goth creature who was in front of me asked me for some change. I told her to get some change she needs to make some change. For instance, I told her to change her clothes, she looks far too spooky. I told her to change deodorants, I told her to change her hair style. I did give her some change, but I threw it on the floor, making her pick up pennies and nickels and an assortment of filthy lucre. No doubt that was the most work that goth piggy has ever done in her pathetic life. History will judge me accordingly.

So, how's it going? I'm in a bit of a mood this morning, I'm sure my posts today will reflect the ugliness that has built up inside me during the last 12 hours. Let's play MindTrap Friday the 13th.

Here are the answers to last weeks questions:
1) Minimum is two weighings. Weigh three coins against three coins. If they balance, the lighter coin is the seventh one, not on the scales. If they don't balance, take the lighter three coins, and weigh one against one. Again, if they balance, the lighter coin is the one off the scale, otherwise, it is the coin on the lighter side.

2) Six. Each day the squirrel will carry out the two ears on his head plus one ear of corn.

3) The six men were carrying the seventh man in a coffin.

Bonus question: Mel Colly was so sick and tired of window washing, he opened the window and jumped inside.
Doug, Butch (new player, welcome), Chris, from Dangerous Logic, and my girl, Donnah, from The Florida Cracker, all answered question 1 correctly.

Answer 2) Butch and Chris answered this tricky question correctly.

Answer 3) No one answered correctly. However, it really is a stupid answer to the question, so I'm not going to deduct anyone 7000 points.

Bonus question: Butch was correct, and Donnah was semi-correct. How can someone be semi-correct? It's possible, oh, it's possible.

The winner of last weeks MindTrap Friday is newcomer Butch. Congratulations, Butch, on a job well done. Good job thinking outside the box, we need more men like you down here at Stanford.

Actually, everyone who played last weeks game did a great job. Even though some of the answers were wrong, it's good to see some lateral thinking happening. It's also good to see that there are still some strangers who will give the world completely wrong answers and stand naked in front of them saying, "Yes, I may be wrong, I may be naked, but you should celebrate me in all my glory, motherfuckers".

Here are this weeks MindTrap Friday the 13th questions:
1) Art Conn bought a used car for $600 and sold it to Hardy Pyle for $800. He later bought it back for $1000 and resold it for $1200. Did Art make any profit and if so how much?

2) Mrs. Shady is lying dead on a bed, and on the floor beside it is a pair of scissors. The scissors were instrumental in her death, yet there is no trace of blood. Mrs. Shady's body reveals no signs of any cuts or bruises. How could she have been murdered with the pair of scissors?

3) Picture a litre of milk and a litre of Kahlua. A cup of Kahlua is poured into the milk and mixed thoroughly. Then, a cup of this mixture is poured back into the Kahlua. Is the amount of Kahlua now in the milk more, less, or the same as the amount of milk in the Kahlua?

Bonus question: Shadow was just about to board his flight to the West Coast when his assistant approached him and begged him not to fly. When Shadow enquired about the strange request, the junior detective said that the previous night he had had a terrible dream that Shadow's plane would crash. Shadow turned away and boarded the plane without a word. When he landed, he phoned back to his office and ordered the immediate dismissal of his young assistant. Why?
I could have used that assistant in last nights dream.

It's good to see there is still some interest in MindTrap Friday, I was going to can the game completely, but you folks seem to enjoy it, so I couldn't very well break your delicate hearts. Ask me for some change and that's a different story.

Everyone is welcome to play, even if you only know one or two answers, give it a shot and tune in next week to see your name proudly displayed on the pages of Mitchieville. And that's all you really want out of life, isn't it?
