The E-Mail Time Capsule
One of my favourite Happy Days episodes was the one where everyone placed something of significance into a time-capsule. The time capsule was suppose to be open, if I remember correctly, in the year 2000. Do you remember that episode?
Sure you remember it. Ralph ended up putting in a whoopee cushion and some joke gum, Mr. C put in a hat, Chachi put in a bag of dope, the Fonz put in his leather jacket, Joanie put in some birth control pills, and Ritchie put in a secret note stating that he murdered a black man in Alabama in 1952. It was the best episode ever.
Except, if you figure that if people from the year 2005 opened up a time capsule from the 1950's, they would be really disappointed to find such ordinary and mundane shit(except for Richie's note/plea for help).
That's what makes the the E-mail Time Capsule way more interesting than what those nerds from the 1950's put in.
You can write an email to yourself and have it delivered 20 years from now(if there still is a world 20 years from now).
Imagine the surprise you will get when your wife breaks into your email account 20 years from now and finds out that you contracted genital herpes from a Haitian whore in 2005. Think of the laughter, the merriment, and the chuckles you'll have trying to explain to your infected wife that you only wrote that email as a joke. After she sticks you in the gut with a broken beer bottle, I'm sure the two of you will see the humour of the "Email time capsule".
