Meanwhile In Mitchieville Township…
This happened yesterday. How many times does The Mayor have to tell you all that drinking and midnight skinny dipping don’t mix? On second thought that doesn’t sound like something The Mayor would say, maybe it was my Boy Scout troop leader who said that.
As Fergy can vouch for, it just so happens that I was canoeing on the Skootamatta River south of Actinolite a week ago and was bitch-slapped hard by Mother Nature. The river comes down from the North and the water is still cold; and would be especially so at night. We should assume that our nekid swimmer was nice and toasted as at it’s widest the Skoot (picture on the right) can’t be more than a one hundred feet wide and in most parts is less than fifty feet wide; even at night the shore wouldn’t be hard to find. The dumb arse is lucky they didn’t find him face down in front of the Tim Hortons in Tweed .
As for my dumb arse, I can vouch for how cold and fast the water is as I still have two big gashes on my legs from when I was in the river sans canoe last weekend*. I have been told by my mother and my Chiropractorto never go white-water canoeing again (Dad has told me that if I go again I can't borrow his canoe). I’ll tell the whole story at Blogfestapolozza 2007 on July 7 at the manor.
*Note to The Minister of Mines and Resources, your team missed 6 sets of rapids on topographic map for the Skootamatta between Actinolite and Tweed. Trust me on this.
