MindTrap Friday Saturday

I had the unfortunate mispleasure of having to ride the GO train from one of Ontario's seedier communities into the City of Light yesterday, hence lack o' bloggin'. On the ride I spoke with a young baby momma named Brandi. Not the young Brandi that kills people in her car, but another Brandi, one who looks you in the eye when she tells you "it's Brandi with an I not a Y".

Brandi was with her 3 year old daughter "Brooklin". The named pleased The Mayor, it doesn't get more baby momma than naming your child Brooklin. I told her that if she had two more children it would be *cool* if she named them Compton and Harlem, thus completing the full white trash circle of name-callery. Brandi said she liked the name Compton, but only for a boy. She wasn't that fond of Harlem, but it could *grow on her*. Yes it could, Brandi. Yes it could, indeed.

We had quite a few first responders to last week's MindTrap Friday, and just like Brandi and her choice of socially challenged baby names, the pleased The Mayor to no end. Here are the answers to last week's questions:
1) In 72 hours (3 x 24) it would be midnight again, so it could not be "bright and sunny."

2) The woman was Eve, who gave Adam the forbidden fruit from the tree in the Garden of Eden. By breaking God's instruction, Adam became mortal and died.

3) Carey Queen is a dwarf. He is only able to reach as high as the 25th floor button on the elevator, unless he has his umbrella.
Jaybird, Retired Geez, Michael, Mr Minority, JJMoWC from Six Hertz, Kton, WickedPinto, Sobek, MechEng and Glenn (via email) all answered correctly.

So, basically everyone got that right.

2) Not a single soul got that question correct. Welcome to hell. As a matter of fact, the answers were so wrong that I had to go back, three times, to make sure I actually asked the right question. Holy crap. I do admit though, although the answers were all wrong, there were some serious funny ones. Heathens.

3) Jaybird, Michael, Mr Minority, Jihad Jimmy, Sobek, MechEng and Glenn answered correctly. Skinbad and Kton get 1/2 points for being able to answer while being legally insane.

Which means, there are one hell of a lot of winners this week.

Jaybird, Michael, Mr Minority, Jihad Jimmy, Sobek, Glenn and MechEng were all winners. However, this isn't a team sport, so I declare the game a giant sham and no one walks away the true winner. Hmmm, that doesn't seem fair, how about you are all 1/7th of a winner this week.

Hurrah for the 1/7th winners, this is a great day.

This week however, there will only be one winner. I am choosing questions that are so hard that by the end of your thought process you shall have small droplets of blood seeping out your ears.

Lets begin, shall we:
1) Wrongway Whitetopp, the famous African explorer, claims that when he is in the far north, he can point his car north on an ordinary road very much like Route 66, drive it for one kilometre, and without turning around, end up one kilometre south of where he started. How does he do it?

2) Why is it that, in general, the hair on a man's head goes grey before the hair in his mustache does?

3) When the day after tomorrow is yesterday, today will be as far from Wednesday as today was from Wednesday when the day before yesterday was tomorrow. What is the day after this day?

4) In classic mythology, there is the story of the Sphinx, a monster with the body of a lion and the upper part of a woman. The Sphinx lay crouched on the top of a rock along the highroad to the city of Thebes, and stopped all travelers passing by, proposing to them a riddle. Those who failed to answer the riddle correctly were killed. This is the riddle the Sphinx asked the travelers:
"What animal walks on four legs in the morning, two legs during the day, and three legs in the evening?"
Remember, no lookie lookie at the other respondents answers, this isn't college.

Good luck to all that play this week. Thanks to all the newbies that gave this a try, it was fun reading your answers and good to have some fresh faces. Although, I still love the dirty faces that show up every week, week after week.

Speaking of dirty faces, has anyone seen Butch?
