Oliver Stone is Angry

Oliver Stone, speaking on foreign soil, has blasted the Bush administration...again:

SAN SEBASTIAN, Spain - Filmmaker Oliver Stone blasted President Bush Thursday, saying he has "set America back 10 years.

"We have destroyed the world in the name of security,"

He has a point. What is it with America's quest for security? I'm sick and tired of people wanting to feel so secure all the time. Hell, I don't even lock my doors. America has indeed destroyed the world. Before Bush took office, the world was a far better place. Remember how everyone loved each other, their was no terrorism, or hunger, or poverty? Remember how it use to rain gumdrops, and every kiss you received was candy-coated? Damn Bush.

"From Sept. 12 on, the incident (the attacks) was politicized and it has polarized the entire world," said Stone. "It is a shame because it is a waste of energy to see that the entire world five years later is still convulsed in the grip of 9/11.

"It's a waste of energy away from things that do matter which is poverty, death, disease, the planet itself and fixing things in our own homes rather than fighting wars with others.

Oliver is spot on again. America needs to concentrate on things that do matter. Like Kyoto, and midnight basketball for disadvantaged inner-city youth. Why are we trying to fix this *terrorism* problem when it doesn't even exist? Seems silly to me.

"We did not fight back in the same way that the British fought the IRA or the Spanish government fought the Basques here. Terrorism is a manageable action. It can be lived with," said Stone.

Another great point. Terrorism is manageable, just ask the British who have been fighting the IRA for 25 years, or the Spanish who have been fighting a war for over 30 years. Just don't ask my uncle who was shot by the IRA in front of his kids 15 years ago, cuz he's dead (true story).

"This war on Iraq is a disaster. I'm disgraced. I'm ashamed for my country," he said. "I'm also ashamed that America has attacked itself with its constitutional breakdowns. I'm deeply ashamed."

Even thought Tokyo Rose died a few days ago, it's good to see her spirit is alive and well and has manifested itself in Oliver Stone.

Man, what a hero. I'm sure Oliver's words won't be used by terrorist leaders as fodder to kill more American's.
