It's Shaving Time
If you're anything like me, shaving is a very important part of your life. A nice, clean shave always starts my day off on the right track. Over the last ten years, shaving technology has gained in leaps and bounds, no longer are we stuck with a one or two blade system, now we have many choices as to how we can shave our beautiful faces.
Back in prehistoric times, Neanderthal man plucked the hair out of his face by using two seashells as tweezers. Around 3000 BC, copper razors were used in both India and Egypt. As time passed, newer shaving systems were invented as man was constantly trying to perfect the perfect shaving experience.
A few years ago I left the two blade razor for the revolutionary Mach 3 razor. The Mach 3 was known as "The best a man can get", and at the time they were right. The Mach 3 has three progressively-aligned blades, single point loading, and an ergonomical handle. The Mach 3 was one hell of a shave. But for me it wasn't enough.
One day while walking through the mall I found a new razor called the *All-Terrain 4x4* by Old Spice. The 4x4 had four blades AND four lube zones. I found that it was even better than the Mach 3, yet it still wasn't good enough for my sensitive skin.
A few months ago, Gillette introduced the Fusion, a shaver that has five blades and a lubricating strip on both the front and back. The Fusion has blades spaced 30 percent closer than Gillette's current Mach 3 Turbo system. It also has a single blade on the back of the cartridge for shaving sideburns or trimming under the nose. These are fantastic features, but it still lacked the *whoompff* I needed for a really close shave.
A few weeks ago I was walking through the same mall and lo and behold I saw something in a store window that knocked me off my feet, the Schick *Octo*. Eight stainless steel blades that shave 43% closer than the Fusion. 8 blades with eight separate lube strips. This was the best shaver yet, unfortunately it was still shit as far as I was concerned.
Today though, I bought a new razor that has changed my life, I bought myself a Norelco MCCX. A 1210 blade shaver with 1210 lube strips. This bad boy is two foot wide and has to be operated by Chinese scientists and Russian mathematicians. It cost me a cool $35,000, but I'm telling you here and now, this thing is the shit.
It takes two people to hold each end of the razor in order to shave you, but the great thing about it is that it only takes one stroke down your face to rid yourself of all that facial hair. The downside is that if they push too hard, up to 23 layers of skin can be peeled off at any time. A small price to pay for a clean shave, if you ask me.
I can't wait to wake up tomorrow and have my team of Razorologists shave my face, I'm excited beyond words. Sure, I'm a little worried thinking about what may happen when they shave my groinial region, yet at the same time I'm a little turned on.
Do yourself a favour, go get yourself a Norelco MCCX tomorrow, you won't regret it.
