Oshawa--Welcome to your impending doom
GM is slashing jobs, and Oshawa is on the hit list:
Oshawa is GM town, more than half of the population that resides there either works directly or indirectly for GM, this is going to be a huge hit.

Rick Wagoner, GM's chairman and CEO, announced. Oshawa Car Plant No. 2 will shut down after current production plans end in 2008, cutting about 2,300 hourly workers and 230 salaried positions. GM will remove the third shift at Oshawa Car Plant No. 1, with about 1,000 workers, in the second half of 2006.Add in the spin-off jobs created by GM, and this is double or triple whammy news.
