What The Hell Am I?

Jack Coupal correctly guessed that last weeks animal was the Aye Aye. It takes a real connoisseur of bizarre and somewhat disgusting animals to be able to identify the Aye Aye. Good on ya, Jack!
This weeks animal is some sort of primate. It is a nocturnal animal that has enormous eyes and long feet. They are primarily insectivorous, and catch insects by jumping at them. They are also known to prey on birds and snakes. These bad bastards are found in Asia, Europe, and North America, and there are disputed fossils from Africa.
They also have the longest continuous fossil record of any primate genus, and the fossil record indicates that their dentition hasn't changed much, except in size, in the past 45 million years.
These animals have never formed successful breeding colonies in captivity, and when caged, they have been known to injure and even kill themselves because of the stress.
No, it is not the Emo.
So, what the hell is it?
