If You Can Help...
So, how has the last year been for you? That's great. Did you get that raise at work? Sweet. And the house, how's the house? Wow, you tiled the kitchen, that's wonderful. It sounds like things are really working out for you, that's good stuff. We're just around the corner from Christmas, our American friends are days away from Thanksgiving, it's officially the start of the professional begging season. Over the next 6 weeks you will be inundated with groups trying to get your money under the guise of charity. Some of the charities will be above board while other charities are a little shaky, to say the least. The one charity I know that always does a great job is The Christian Children's Fund, they are good folk doing a superb job.
Last year, with help from friends, family, Google Ads and donations from Mitchievillian's, we managed to raise enough money to sponsor this beautiful child, Anielka, and have enough cash left over to buy her father a pair of workboots and get Anielka some much needed school supplies. Mitchievillian's care, there's no doubt about it. Have a look at last years post.
Not much has changed in Anielkas life. She still lives in her uncles house with the dirt floor, her health is still lousy, but at least there are no longer 9 people that live with her, it's only eight. Unfortunately that's because her father left her and her mother.
This child is poorer than any of us can probably imagine. She's not North American poor, where a family can only afford a GameCube and not an XBox, this is a child that fights every day to live and to find enough food to feed her emaciated frame.
Once again, I'm not into guilting anyone out of their money, what's yours is yours. I have no idea how your financial statement lines up, so this is what I propose: If you can afford a donation to help this beautiful girl and her family, then click on the PayPal button near the top of the page and give what you can. Nothing is too small.
Thank you.
