Billboards That Cause Domestic Assaults
Minutes after the American Concrete billboard went up with the message, “Wife need new shoes?”, YWCA of Niagara official, Kathleen Granchelli, charged that American Concrete is insensitive, uncaring and promoting domestic violence:“I’m sure it was considered to be a joke, or something cute, but with the number of fatalities we see in the domestic violence field, it’s not a joke,” Granchelli said Thursday. “It’s in very poor taste.”"Your honour, I was once a very well-grounded man, but ever since I saw that American Concrete billboard, all I want to do is go home and kick the teeth out of my bitches face".
I don't have any hard evidence, but I would think that the number of domestic assaults that can be directly related to silly billboard slogans must be next to zero. I can however, see that the number of domestic assaults on women that are directors of the YWCA, and therefore have no humour whatsoever, to be considerably higher.
It's a joke, try haha'ing
