Colorado School Bans *Tag*
A Colorado school has banned the game Tag after some children complained they were being harassed and chased against their will:"It causes a lot of conflict on the playground," said Cindy Fesgen, assistant principal of the Discovery Canyon Campus school.I for one applaud the elementary school for banning this game. One thing you do not want children doing is resolving conflicts on there own, that is why we have lawyers, advisory boards and panels.
Running games are still allowed as long as students don't chase each other, she said.
Imagine the horror little Dakota must feel when she is being chased against her will by Timmy. Imagine her pain, imagine her angst. No child deserves that.
I'm glad the teachers in this school are doing their jobs by not interfering on the playground and stopping abusive behaviour. I'm glad the principle decided that the way to stop any form of conflict is with an iron fist and sturdy resolve through harsh laws and hasty judgments.
The kids have learned a good lesson from this: Childhood isn't about fun and games, it's about cracking down on personal freedoms.
Stop the madness, ban hopscotch...cuz there's too much unnecessary hopping
