Maxim's a House of Idiots
They slapped together a list of Hockey’s Toughest Bastards (Maxim-article has been pulled since Oct 12) that is almost laughable for the guys they ignored (no Nicky? No Tiger? No Teddy Green? No Jacques Plante after getting his face blown out and coming back wearing a mask?)
Even if they are oblivious to the history shit… No Domi?)
And some of the pansies they pumped up (Lemieux #1?… are you fucking kidding me?) causes wonder if anyone there knows a damn thing about the game.
But my All-Time Guy, MY HERO! My sport (which is life, innit it?) psychological mentor (sorry, Thurman), righteously earned his way in to their rankings:
HE KICKED ASS
8. BILLY SMITH
Tough Guy Cred: Did nothing to dispel the notion that all goalies are batshit insane
“Battlin’” Billy Smith hated the other team. Not in a healthy, competitive way, but in a dangerous way. He still holds the record for most penalty minutes by a goaltender for his liberal use of a goal stick. He also once got so angry at Mike Bossy that Smith had to be tackled and held down to keep from killing the superstar—and they were teammates at the time.

**From The Mayor--I managed to get hold of the top 15 *Toughest Bastards in Hockey* from Maxim, and let me tell you, Maxim writers know absolutely nothing about hockey. They should stick to interviewing hot chicks cuz hockey is not their strong point.
Here are a few of the *toughest bastards* Maxim included on their list: #9 Peter Forsberg-What a joke. What a bad joke. I'm not even sure if Forsberg has ever had a fight, not even a playground fight. #12 Doug Gilmour-I love Doug Gilmour, but he is not one of the toughest hockey players ever, that's silly. #13 Todd Bertuzzi, #14 Doug Jarvis #16 Maurice Richard and #1 Mario Lemieux. C'mon now, Mario Lemieux? No offence to one of the greatest natural scorers the game has ever seen, but the guy was a pussy.
Here are a few of the toughesy hockey bastards according to The Mayor (in no particular order) Bill Gadsby (over 600 stitches to his face during his NHL career. Craig Berube, Bob Probert (naturally), Bryan Watson-a maniacs maniac, Tie Domi, Red Horner-led the NHL in penalty minutes for 8 straight years, Stu Grimson, Ken Baumgartner, Dave Semenko, Tim Hunter, john Kordic, Dave *The Hammer* Schultz, Basil McRae, Tiger Williams, Marty McSorley, Wayne Cashman, Gino Odjick, Terry O'Reilly, Willi Plett.
I know I'm missing a crap-load of tough bastards of my list, and I'm sure you'll fill in the blanks for me. But seriously, do you think Mario effin' Lemieux should be on the same list as these guys?
