The CBC may have reached a deal
The most shocking thing about this story is that I didn't know that the CBC were actually on strike.
I was watching some Canadian football on the CBC the other week, and there weren't any paid CBC announcers, it was completely unplugged, just the voices of the stadium announcer and the players on the field. It was great, I'm going to miss the silence.
Canadians don't want the CBC to go back to work, Canadians couldn't care less if the CBC sinks or swims. Do you think that there are people sitting around discussing the plight of the CBC? If you do, you need to put down the rolled up $5 bill and check yourself into rehab immediately.
Canadians care about real issues, like why Paris and Paris split up, or why the women who work at Tim Horton's have such small breasts, they don't care that Anne of Green Gables won't be on this week, or what Peter Mansbrindge is wearing. The CBC is irrelevant to Canadians.
What if you built and subsidized a TV network to the tune of 1 billion bucks of tax payer money a year, then went on strike and not a single, solitary soul cared or even noticed? Then you'd have the CBC.
The CBC, the punchline to a sick joke
Toronto — CBC management and the Canadian Media Guild struck an agreement early Monday morning which is expected to end the lockout of 5,500 staff in the coming days.Thank goodness they're going back to work, I really missed my daily fix of the Antique Roadshow.

Both sides faced sudden, mounting pressure from Ottawa in recent days with parliament now back in session. The general consensus among political observers and hopeful CBC staff is that a deal would be struck by the end of this week, possibly sooner.Surprise, surprise. Since the Liberals have lost their tax payer funded mouthpiece, the Tories have been climbing in the polls, no doubt the Liberals want the CBC to go back to work, they have Conservatives to slay.
"Canadians want their national public broadcaster back," CBC's president and CEO Robert Rabinovitch said in a statement early Monday.Smoke another one, Robert.
