I wish Bob Geldof had live aids

Preston Taylor Holmes, who resides over at Six Meat Buffett links to this article today, regarding Bob Geldof and his plans for Live Aid 2, or Live Aid 8 as Bobby boy is calling it.

Preston manages to convey everything about Bob Geldof that I've thought for years, except Preston does it fluently. Here's a little bit from the article, and then a little bit of what Preston says regarding the snippet

“Charity will never really solve the problems,'’ said Geldof, who was knighted in the U.K. for his work to end poverty. “It is time for justice, and 20 years after Live Aid people now demand it.'’

(Preston) You can bet your sweet ass nobody in the limey press bothered to ask, “what the hell are you talking about, you dimwitted, burned-out, acid-riddled shitkicker?” They should have, though.

Holy God, I laughed for about 7 minutes straight when I read that. He's damn right of course, no-one ever takes these aging fools to task, they just nod their collective heads like a bunch of freakin' zombies. As the commercial says, but wait, there's more...

Curtis has been at the forefront of the Make Poverty History campaign and added his voice to the arguments.

Some 70 million people have died of Aids in Africa, he said. “We’ve got our own private holocaust going on now.”

If 50,000 people a day died in Europe, leaders would “find the money to solve that particular problem as they walked from the front door at Gleneagles to the reception", he said.

“It absolutely can be done. In terms of the global scale of finances, it is a tiny amount of money.”

(Preston) These assholes throw around terms like “holocaust” and “Hitler” like gumdrops. Curtis should be run through with a bayonet on the basis of that comment alone.

Once again Preston nails it dead to rights. The words *holocaust* and *Hitler* have certainly lost their edge now, as everyone who is evil is now Hitler and if two birds fall out of a tree it's a holocaust.

It's best to read the whole post. One thing for sure, Preston does not take fools lightly.
