Let's Call Our Christian God "Allah"
Catholic churches in the Netherlands should use the name Allah for God to ease tensions between Muslims and Christians, says a Dutch bishop.First off, besides the fact that this could possibly be the dumbest idea ever breathed out of any non-retarded mouth, the good Bishop may want to go back and have a look in the Bible and look up the part about the trinity.
Tiny Muskens, the bishop of Breda, told the Dutch TV program "Network" Monday night he believes God doesn't mind what he is called, Radio Netherlands Worldwide reported.
The Almighty is above such "discussion and bickering," he insisted.
You see, from what I'm gathering, Bishop Tiny believes that the Moslems and us Christian's believe in the same God. Not true, of course. We both believe in a God, but the Islamic God (Allah) is completely different that our Christian God. This is actually a point that not many people seem to grasp. I hear this all the time: What difference does it make, we all pray to the same God. Mind you, that's usually coming out of the mouth of uneducated simpletons.
Next time you speak to a Moslem, ask him how Islam views the trinity (father, son, holy spirit). You'll quickly find out that the basis of Christianity is completely anethema to Moslems. Allah is Allah and can't be three persons, it just doesn't jive with Islamic teachings, it's heresy, nowhere in the Koran is the trinity ever mentioned. You can't have a personal relationship with Allah like Chirstian's can with God. See, two distinct God's.
At the end of the article, a Dutch poet says sure, let's call God Allah, and then let's call a church a mosque and pray five times a day. He seems to get it. I'd take it one step further though, let's call Bishop Tiny "Dhimmi". He's well on his way.
