Alchemy for Investors, part 9

In our journey of investigation of the Tarot, we come to our first 'scary' card, namely that of The Lightning Struck Tower.

This trump corresponds to the planet Mars, which also has scary connotations in astrology. Between Mars and Saturn, the new age types have interposed clouds of dust and tiny bits of spinning ice in their search for healing and more healing. Of course, healing begins with realizing that something is wrong. Something is wrong with your world view. And it is Mars, not the gas clouds of Moo, that cuts through the veil of illusion to present you with reality in its solid, hot, bright, and possibly painful forms.

In the trump, we see two figures. One represents the sub-conscious of The High Priestess, only her crown is gold rather than silver. Great lot it did her: she is being blasted out of a rather impressive Sauron-class tower. As for the plumeting male figure, he is associated with The Magician. His crown is far bigger than his head, and a bolt of lightning has separated it from his earthly control.

Everyone is familiar with the horrible feeling of being wrong ... which is what this card evokes. This is why simpletons and dullards do not like to look at the card, or, actually, things that evoke this Trump. And, armed with this knowledge, you can construct tests for people, and yourself, to test them.

Contemplation of this trump will allow you to proceed larger and faster towards the rebuilding of your world view, a world view in tune with reality. You will be free of the rule of King Fairycake and Queen Moonbeam.

As a seed for further contemplation, I would draw your attention to the strange symbols that accompany the falling figures. Above the woman is the tree of life figure. Above the man is a figure that represents the cube of space. Which is to say, bluntly and for those with ears to hear, that to work the Wheel of Fortune you need to work two things, not one as is the common practice in alchemical circles. Which could explain why their experiments do not work as often as they should. Hmmmm. So, if you are following along with some exercises in your personal tarot, I suggest you acquire a second deck exactly the same as the first. Just do it. Make notes in your journal.

As I mentioned previously, The Wheel of Fortune has eight T-shaped figures. The Upright T is The World. The reversed T is The Empress. And now I tell you that the T of the first quadrant in the 45 degree position is this card, The Tower. You need to know the identities and the positions of the nine cards that you use to construct the Key of Solomon. The center card is, of course, The Wheel of Fortune. Now you know four of the nine trumps.

When you have mastery of the Key of Solomon, you will have access to the thing I call the machine. This machine, which you access in a dream state, controls your external reality. Now being able to move your conscious mind in the dream state is the work worthy of an adept alone, let alone performing some delicate manipulations. None the less, you have it there. Of course, if you do start to work towards this you will come face to face with the mis-alignments between your mis-beliefs and reality. Ka-Boom! Which is what this Trump is all about. Your climb to the top of the tower is inevitable. How long you stay under the rule of King Fairycake and Queen Moonbeam is, however, up to you. Shorter is better, and Gravity, well, it never lets you down.
