Captain Hook Can't Get a Fair Trial
This could quite possibly be the best defense ever thought up:RADICAL preacher Abu Hamza should never have been prosecuted because it was "unfair", a court heard yesterday.Captain Hook is pretty funny, I'll give the crunk-eyed bastard that much.
His lawyers told the Appeal Court, London, putting the 48-year-old on trial earlier this year for speeches he made between 1997 and 2000 made it "impossible for him to receive a fair trial".
Hamza, the former iman of London's Finsbury Park Mosque, was jailed for seven years in February. He is appealing against his conviction for soliciting to murder and inciting racial hatred.
Edward Fitzgerald, Q.C. said Egyptian-born Hamza's trial was also prejudiced by "unique" global events including the 9/11 attacks in the US, the July 7 London bombings last year and a media hate-campaign.
His defense is that because of all the terror he's incited, he can't get a fair trial.
Bravo, Captain Hook, bravo.
