Are Premade Lunches Good For You?
Of course they aren't, premade lunches are terrible for you, and Dan Kois from Slate does a little test and reveals the 9 worst premade lunches available. The panel judged the lunches on look, taste and nutrition, and surprise, Lunchables ranked up there with eating your own shoe. Among the comments describing Lunchables are these little gems:
"Anyone who gives this to their kids is guilty of child abuse."I had to post this article because I've been having an ongoing battle with the ex-wife of my legitimate children regarding the lunches she packs for my boys. They tell me that they get Lunchables just about every day and this drives me crazy. I've approached my ex numerous times and the conversation always goes the same way:
"...it smelled, upon opening, "like barf"
Me: Do you think you could pack something other than Lunchables for the boys, they have no nutritional value and are actually bad for them.Word.
Her: I'm so busy all the time, I don't have time to pack lunch. Lunchables are easy and convenient.
Me: It takes all of three minutes to jam a sandwich, an apple and a drink in a bag.
Her: Seriously, I'm too busy.
Me: You're not too busy to watch a movie every night when they're sleeping, do it during the credits.
Her: Stop harassing me, I don't like being told what to do.
Me: You're a complete idiot, do something right for once in your life and stop being such a bad mother.
Her: I am guilty. I am a bad mother and have very few maternal instincts. I'm not only a bad mother, but I was a lousy wife and overall I'm a fucking idiot.
This post isn't to show you that my ex-wife is a complete douchebag (which she is), it's to show you that Lunchables are terrible for your kids. You'd be better off packing Timmy a smoke and a 1/2 mickey of Vodka than giving the little guy Lunchables.
Anyway, I lost track of what I was going to say so I'll just end this post....right....here.
