Mitch Hedberg, Part 1

If you've never heard of Mitch Hedberg, perhaps you have been too busy hanging out with Osama in some cave plotting the destruction of western society. If you have heard of Mitch Hedberg, you'll know that he died last year of heart failure at age 37.

Mitch was one of my favourite stand-up comedians, famous for his great one-liners. In a world void of decent stand-up comedians, Hedberg was the shit. He paid his dues on the stand-up circuit, and although he did the Letterman show 10 times, he never really became famous. He died the night before he was going to do his first HBO special.

Hedberg had so many great lines, but the one I always think of when I think of Hedberg is this:

"Alcoholism is a disease, but it's the only one you can get yelled at for having. Damn it Otto, you're an alcoholic. Damn it Otto, you have Lupus... one of those two doesn't sound right."

That's funny.
