Football and Unions
AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO'S
Yes, I went to a Toronto Argo's football game last night, had a great time. My brotha from a different baby motha had a few tickets, so we decided to do the dinner/drinks/football/beer thing. Now, when I say I went to see football, it wasn't soccer, it was football, you know, the game with real men playing a real sport.
The Argo's lost to Montreal *spit*, but still we had a most enjoyable time. For what you pay for a game, you sure do get your dollars worth. There were bands playing and strippers stripping(okay, that never happened), but there was a lot of good quality entertainment.
Before we entered Skydome(now the Rogers Center), a scruffy looking duffus handed me a flyer, here's what it said:
It's easy to see what this is all about, it's about four employees that were fired because they were shit disturbers.
Here's why I don't pity these fools. When these guys started working at Steelback, they knew the plant was not unionized. The owners of the plant don't want a union because it drives up operating costs through the roof. The four losers were happy to be working, but one day one of them, the louder Socialist of the four, became discontented. So he decides to put the bug in the ears of the other employees about talk of a union. Most of the employees reject his talk outright because they like the management of the plant, and they have no problems with their work condition, or their pay. They are happy for the job.
Things progress, and head socialist wingnut gets a few people on his side. He probably told them that if they had a union they would get a raise, better benefits, he promised them the world.
Word gets back to management that(let's just call him Jerry), that Jerry is trying to start a union. Immediately the owner of the plant says "fuck Jerry and the horse he rode in on, doesn't he know how lucky he is to actually have a job?". Everyone agrees, Jerry is troublesome.
Later, management finds that not only is Jerry involved in this subversive act, but he also has the backing of three other idiots of the apocalypse; Timmy, Dwayne, and Dwayne #2. "Get rid of those tools", the owner says. The owner thinks to himself how bad this kind of talk is to worker productivity, and any rumours about a union will kill the stock in his company.
So they fire the four slobs.
This is when righteous indignation kicks in. The four sphinksters go ballistic and file suit against the owners, they call every union boss alive and cry a lake of tears. "How could they fire us? We've been faithful employees for 3 months...whaa whaa whaa".
So the union bosses tell the four brain-cell-less morons that in order to show that you're serious, the best thing to do is draw up a few crappy fliers, go down to an Argo's game and try to embarrass Steelback via the Argo's, or vice versa.
This is where it stands now.
These four douche-baggian losers had a good job, but they weren't satisfied with their 9-5, they had to have more. They rolled the dice hoping for 7/11, but they crapped out.
I feel no pity for people who turn their backs on the employer who was good enough to hire them in the first place, I feel zero pity. They didn't know how good they had it.
I hope welfare pays well, because now these guys will(hopefully) be blacklisted by every company in Buttfuck, Ontario, or where-ever they're from. It serves them right.
BTW, Steelback is truly a miserable, shitty beer. Somehow that makes this boring story just a little bit better.

What the makers of the "Official beer of the Toronto Argonauts" don't want you to know:Well cry me a river you lazy gits.
Steelback breweries is currently facing charges at the Ontario Labour relations board that it terminated four employees because they supported a union.
The brewery also faces charges that it threatened its employees that it would close the plant if they chose to unionize.
Further, the Ministry of Labour has been asked to conduct an investigation into complaints by Steelback employees that the brewery failed to pay overtime premium with accordance with the law.
