We have a wiener!
On May 23rd of this year I posted a little piece called "You light up my life". Here's a choice snippit to refresh your memory.
That post led to another post because we ended up with an eventual winner, that winner being Turkey, but no-one placed any money on the Turks, so I decided to keep the contest running.
Well, I'm happy and saddened to announce that we have another winner. Actually, we have two winners. That's right, not just one fireworks factory went up in flames, but two, count 'em, TWO, fireworks factories have gone poof.
My newest best friend, Todd, from parts unknown, emailed me yesterday to give me the horrible/joyous news that s few weeks ago a fireworks factory in India went bye-bye.
India *went off* at 200-1, and Fenris bet a sweet $30, so if you multiply the 30 by the 200 and subtract the denominator, divide the sum by the whole total and add GST, minus federal, provincial and municipal taxes, and of course the Mitchieville lottery tax of 50%, Fenris comes away with a pretty bitchin' $50, or so.
Fenris nearly doubled his money, and you can to. I'm keeping the odds the same as they have always been, you can check the previous posts to see where all the countries in the universe stack up.
There's plenty of summer left, and this certainly won't be the last major fireworks disaster of the year, so get your bets in now, don't delay, time is running out.
I'm still sticking with China, they have really let me down this year, but I have a feeling they'll come through for me this time. $200 says they're going to clean up.
I forgot to mention, the other fireworks disaster occurred in Portugal last Friday, but no-one had picked them, so we'll just start over again.
Best of luck!
It's been a while since a fireworks factory has burned down and killed scores of people.Still not ringing a bell? Stoners say what? What?
At this point I'd like to bring in our contestants for this years "which country will have the next major fireworks disaster that kills scores of people?" contest.
I'm going to open this up to any country in the world, but the smart money is on China.

NEW DELHI - A fire broke out at a fireworks factory in southern India yesterday, killing at least 20 workers and injuring 15 others, a news agency reported. My condolences goes out to the families of those who were killed by the fire. However, with every cloud there is a silver lining, and this silver lining was worth about $6000 to Fenris Badwulf, Mitchieville's Minister of Re-Education, who picked India to be the next big winner.
The cause of the fire at the factory near Sivakasi in Tamil Nadu state was not immediately known, Press Trust of India news agency reported.
