Noodle Me This, Part 3
Today is part three in my five part series on how to eat nutritious food that can be made quickly, and on a dime. I'd like to introduce my fine malnourished readership to the joy that is the instant noodle. To start off with you will need a form of instant noodle, perhaps Tiger Brand, or my personal favourite "Mr. Noodle". You will also need a spoon and some device to boil hot water. At this point I would suggest a kettle, cooking on a bonfire in your living room will not do.
Instant noodles can be tricky, but well worth the effort. First you will need to boil a pot of water, get it good and hot. Next, open the top of the instant noodle pack and observe that there is actually a line three quarters up the bowl where the noodles are nestled inside. I should point out that the bowl that the noodles come inside is actually a bowl which you can directly eat the noodles out of. Do not eat the bowl as it is plastic. The line indicated inside said bowl is a marker for where the boiling water should be poured to. After you have poured the scolding water inside the bowl, add the little package of seasoning, it will be either chicken or beef, and let it sit for 3 and one half minutes. Remember to close the lid after the water has been poured in. After the three and one half minutes have expired, open the lid, as a matter of fact, take the whole lid off and place in a receptacle. A receptacle does not include your closet, your gym bag, or wantonly thrown on the floor, it's a word which actually mean "garbage"
Pick up the spoon in your dominant hand and stir the noodles for approximately 30-45 seconds, depending on how fast your stirring abilities are. When this is completed, you can almost immediately eat the noodles. As a side dish I recommend a glass of water and a toothpick, as the noodles do tend to get caught in your incisors.
This is a delicious, nutritious, scrumdillyicious meal that can be prepared for under 8 cents U.S. ( $400.00 Canadian)
Bring some guests over and serve them Mr. Noodles, they wont know whether they're eating at your house or a Chinese food restaurant. For an added effect try piping in sounds on cats in agony, then they really will think they're eating at a Chinese restaurant.
Tune in tomorrow for part four of my series when I will be explaining how to make a peanut butter sandwich. Here's a hint, get some bread and some peanut butter.
