Taxspending, it works!
Taxpayers may complain about tax spenders. They demand results … well, you cheap, unfeeling, non-obese, heartless racist heteronormative ‘I only F-word the opposite sex of my own species’ meanies, here are some results that matter … the publicly funded Regents Park newsletter!
This is what funds the regents park newsletter *:
They fund other groups, too *:
One way of fighting drug abuse is to fund youth to get free training from professional photographers. Results matter: the most recent sample photographs from 2006 *.
And what better way to fight crack than to encourage children to make posters * …
… or comics *
Now while fourteen posters and no comics might seem a little thin for output over a multi year period, just think about all the jobs created by this valiant caring effort.
For example, under New Media *, we have rather touching photo of people wrestling with obesity, seeking to reach out to others through internet based tools. No links are given to blogs, to bulletin boards. I guess it is like the three year dry spell with the comics production.
I did find the blog for Regent Park Focus *. It was last updated on February 20, 2008. The staff must be busy, what with wrestling with Mike Harris’ budget cutbacks, racism, obesity, and intolerance for homosexuality.
Check out Tyrone’s post for December 18 *. Nice shot of youth displaying gang hand signs. What gang are they in? These must be members of the youth gang that does not use drugs.
There is the 2003 effort titled Tough Guise *. It explores ‘the portrayal of masculinity in popular culture’. The multimedia contributions for 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007 are not yet posted on the website.
The Flash Games * has no entries. Maybe a Flash Games Development Youth Partnership is called for.
There is the Underground Recording Studio *, founded in 2005. God damn you cheap taxpayers for not doing it sooner, and for not spending more, and for whatever else you heteronormatives hate tax spenders for. The Studio has produced nine caring, feeling hits in the hip hop genre for 2005, and four in 2006. Nothing in 2007. More nothing for 2008.
And, lastly, the link to Regent Park TV *. That is TV as in television, not transvestite.
Check out Captain Canada’s classic I Want Job *. I got all choked up envisioning a Canada where ‘…where new Canadians have employment opportunities.’ You racist bastards better start something like employment equity programs, English language training, and skills development. God damn you taxpayers.
