Nicaraguan Kids Are The Big Winners--Kind Of
Although the New England Patriot's lost this year's Super Bowl, at least the losing garments which had been manufactured in advance went to a worthy cause:Shirts and caps proclaiming the victory of the New England Patriots -- when the American football team actually lost the latest Super Bowl -- have ended up in the hands of poor Nicaraguan children.Does anyone else get the impression that South America is slowly turning into a giant Salvation Army box?
"The children are the winners," said Miriam Diaz, of World Vision, a Christian humanitarian organization.
Is it not bad enough that these kids are dirt poor, but now they're outfitted with shirts from a team that sucked harder than Richard Simmons at an ecstasy party? If the NFL wanted to do something nice, they would send these kids clothing from the Giant's. Hell, they may be poor, but why rub salt into their wounds. Even better, send them some chicken wings.
Time to punt
