Woman Gets Daughter To Sign Up For Punishment
A mother from Tennessee, distraught with her daughters terrible behaviour, made her stand at a street corner with a sign that read:"I don't obey my parents, I'm a liar. I steal from my mom. I have a bad attitude."Perhaps the best quote I have seen this year.
"All other resources haven't worked, so I'm making her be publicly humiliated today," mother Cherie Wilkins told WMC-TV in Memphis. "I hope this works for her. I love my child. ... I could be beating her to death, but I'm not."
The Mayor applauds this type of positive parenting, it shows guts and initiative, it shows how much the mother really cares and loves her daughter. The article goes on to say that the mother is making her child wear the sign to Church on Sunday. That tells me that the mother is willing to shame her daughter, AND herself, all because she wants her baby to fly straight. That's beautiful.
Would this work on most kids? No. Most kids own their parents, but the poor woman is at the end of her rope and is desperatly reaching out for anything that might save her daughter from what she feels is gloom. Good for her, more parents should do this.
I could be beating her to death, but I'm not.
