General Trivia Questions Friday

As most of you are aware by now, I have been working with something our ancestors use to refer to as *Dial-up internet service* the last few days. Some of you old timers might remember dial up service, it was invented in the early 1800's by Algores great-great grandmother. How it works is simple: Using your phone line, you dial into a connection whereby rabbits on a treadmill run after lettuce, which produces enough energy for a signal that goes from your computer to a giant satellite in the sky, which in turn is beamed back down to earth, and eventually through the magic of science you get a connection to the world wide web. It's all very impressive, but I notice it's a tad bit slow.

For instance, to download the picture for this post, I clicked upload on my computer, went into the kitchen and baked a cake, went to the washroom and had a shower, watched two movies with TLDG, took my bar exam, came back to my computer to see that there was only a mere 67 minutes left in the upload. As I said, it's a tad bit slow.

You know who wasn't slow though? All the players of last weeks General Trivia Friday. That's right, all the playas were the opposite of slow, I'd go as far as saying that they were quick.

Did you see how I brought the whole internet story in line with the quickness of last weeks trivia players? That was pretty awesome, I deserve a medal.

Here are the answers to last weeks questions:
1. Uranium.
2. Hiccups
3. Jupiter
4. Pepper and Mustard.
5. Nonreligious people.
There were two winners to last weeks quiz and they go by the names of Andy (again) and Roadblock the slightly perturbed. I love that name, it's very funny and ingenious. Haha, *Andy*. And the other *Perturbed* fella has a pretty unique name also.

Andy and Perturbed are the *General Trivia Friday smarty-panted winners of the week*. Congratulations goes out to both of these mental behemoths, they have proven their worth, they have shown that even two poor immigrants with only a rudimentary knowledge of English can not only participate in such a hard quiz, but with perseverance and hard work can be winners.

Don't you want to be like a poor immigrant, like Andy and Perturbed? Oh, right, and they don't have all their limbs. When I think about it, that's really amazing that they won. Everyone else should be ashamed of themselves, Christ, letting a couple of slobs like those two yuckers win anything is embarrassing. Good for them, bad for you.

Here are the questions for this week:
1) What century saw Alexander Cummings issued the first patent for a flush toilet?

2) What zip code was mentioned 301 times in the first five years of Entertainment Weekly?

3) What legendary strongman laid out the 600-foot race course for the only event in the early years of the ancient Olympics?

4) What was the B-17 long-range bomber nicknamed in World War II?

5) Which country has more tractors per capita, Canada, Iceland or Japan?
As far as tough questions are concerned, and on a scale from 1-10, I would say that the hardness factor is about 7.4634 for these questions. I managed 4-5 right off the bat, and I would have gotten the other one right if it wasn't for those meddling kids.

If you haven't played General Trivia Questions Friday before, you are more than welcome to participate. Don't be afraid to make a total tool of yourself in front of nameless, faceless strangers, no one will give you a hard time because you aren't very smart. Hell, you might be handsome, or even handy.

Courage
