America frightens me

Like most activists, I hear voices. The voices are like hoof beats, pounding in my mind the needs of the needy, the lack of accomodation for those most vulnerable in our society, and the social violence caused by inadequate social spending.

Extensive research done by myself, with every fact checked by a main stream media fact checker means that the facts are checked, and you can check off fact checking on your daily check list. So put your brain into neutral, and let an activist do your thinking for you.

Scientific research, of top notch Global Warming Warning Worker caliber, reveals that there are quite a few colleges in the United States of America. I chose one at random (*) and was horrified at the militaristic tone of this representative example of American academia. Why all the emphasis on aggression, and armed might? I e-mailed Prime Minister Stephen Harper, looking for answers. And now, five minuites later, there is no reply. Why the wall of silence, Harper? We know that you don't even make the small effort to read a quick read like Marcel Proust's "A La Recherche Du Temps Perdu" (translated as Remembrance of Things Past)(*), but can't he even answer important questions by important people like self-important journalists?

Canadian village-places of highest learning, like Toronto's York University (*) and Toronto's Ryerson (*) do not push an agenda of militarism. No, these are the meeting places of our tribal elders, around the book-fueled camp fire of learning, where the current next generation listens to the revealed wisdom of the same-old most important generation, the Baby-Boomers. Here, the new minds are shaped into the mold of the old minds, using emotionally driven reason. It feels good comparing inferior American academia to the superior Canadian, like the first time you shared in cultural diversity by eating insects.

As a control group, check out this typical foreign university (*). The website is written in French, one of Canada's official languages, which made me feel welcome. The American website is not written in French. Why is that, Harper? Huh?

Note that in the lower right hand corner of the American website is a token gesture of politcal correctness: a link to some sort of Accessibility Help and Information page. Since this fact does not fit my theory, it must be wrong, and should be ignored. People questioning this should be ridiculed.

A last, terrifying, insight into the monolithic power of the American Research-Government Hegemony, is this typical article found on the typical American college site (*). (It is a big article, filled with numbers, tables, and big words, and takes a long time to load). I was filled with anger when I was told what was in the article. My hands shook, and my sphincter tightened into a Timbit (*) of rage. What business is it of the Combined Arms Research Library to care about the Soviet invasion of Manchuria in 1945? This is offensive! This is a possible cause of Global Warming!

Smug and superior, I now know and you know now, that Canadian Academia is Holier than Thou, America. And Toronto, the world's most perfect city, is the crowing rooster on top of the compost heap of learning.
