Chinese Teens Becoming More Liberal About Sex

According to a Reuters article (take it with a grain of salt), Chinese teens are becoming more open-minding when it comes to sex:

Some 6.2 percent of the survey's 2,300 high school students in Xuanwu, a downtown district in the Chinese capital of Beijing, had already had a sexual experience and the average age of students losing their virginity was 15, the China Daily said on Thursday.

Unless high school starts when you're 8 in China, that's not exactly what I would call breaking down the doors to a new sexual liberation. I'm not a math expert, but I believe 6.2% of 2,300 works out to about 140. I'm sure more kids have had sex with a goat by that age, but moving on...

Of the 1,300 girls asked if they would agree to sex when asked by a boyfriend, only six gave a definite "no."

That's more like it. Although I might have to call BS on that because I ask Chinese girls for sex all the time and they nearly always say no. I suppose that church isn't the best place to ask them, but it's not as if I hang around karaoke bars all night:

Such liberal attitudes to sex have sparked concerns over safe sex, with more than 40 percent of respondents who had had sex saying they did not use contraceptives for their first time, the China Daily said.

Couple that with the strict population controls the Chinese gov't has issued, and this will become a huge problem for Chinese authorities in the future.

I often hear people drone on about how conservative the Chinese are towards sex, but I have 1.3 billion reasons to say they're not.
