Shut Up, Bono's Speaking-The Mayor
Speaking from Rwanda, Bono had this impassioned plea to the worlds media:"The thing I'm learning is breaking with clichés. We see this pattern of Africans displayed as supplicants. We need to start portraying Africans as noble, entrepreneurial, very handsome, beautiful, smart. Break the clichés. As people dehumanize African people it's very easy to turn away from them."I'm wondering, if Bono doesn't want us to look at Africans as supplicants, why is he begging world leaders to forgive Africa's debt and even give them more money?
