An Environmentalist Candidate for US President

Hello, my name is Harold Trooman, and I'm running for president of the United States in 2008, at the urging of Mitchieville's Minister of Finance. I realize this is a Canadian web log, but thought I'd use it as a testing ground for some newly developed political policies.
Though I'm independent, I'm a true bi-partisan kind of guy -- always striving to bring together the diametrically opposed "leftists" and "rightists," thusly creating peace, harmony, and prosperity for all. (My spell checker says "thusly" isn't a word. Well, what does it know?) Anyway, this bipartisanship is how I came up with my new, innovative platform that incorporates the best intentions of both parties.
I call it "Nuclear Disarmament Through Use."
Let me explain... You see, we have way too many nuclear bombs in the world. Environmentalists hate to see us stockpiling these weapons of mass destruction -- and, lets face it, many of our soldiers in harm's way have no flack jackets (even though we've spent $400+ billion on the war to date).
So, beginning with my first term in office, we will pull all troops out of Iraq. Then, we will drop one nuke per week on a selected Islamic city, country, or pilgrimage (chosen by spinning a large wheel, an event which will be broadcast on live television from the oval office). But, as I said, we will be sensitive to the environment; my vow to the nation is that, for every nuke we drop, we will not build another to replace it. In other words, as stated, Disarmament Through Use.
It's innovative. Think about it.
