Saturday in the Park
Yes I know its Wednesday but I’m a busy man. The kids and I were out last Saturday to a small Provincial Park in the eastern reaches of Mitchieville Township for our first nature walk of the year. I was able to get a few pictures taken before the sundown…..
Ferris Park is the smallest Provincial Park in Ontario. Bordering a highway, the Trent River and the Town of Campbellford, it is impossible to get lost and there is lot’s to see and do.

This sign tells us all about the Ferris family and their generous bequest to the people of Ontario. Thank you Ferris family!

This sign shows us what an asshole with a Sharpie pen, paper, masking tape and a digital camera can do. Thank you Fenris for your generous bequest to the people of Ontario! Go to hell Photoshop.

Signs, signs everywhere signs. Look Mayor it’s another damned dam sign. Mitchieville Township men are dreamy.

My daughter takes exception to the fact that the locals refer to this as a suspension bridge. I’m not an engineer so wtf am I supposed to say. Taking pictures while the bridge swayed back and forth made me queasy. Look out below I’m gonna be sick!

Growing up in the west (true) I was taught that the North American Indians used every part of a slain buffalo, what they couldn’t eat they used for tools, clothing and shelter (true). In that spirit I made sure that each of us totally consumed our Chocolate Buffalo’s not wasting any part of them (true). To impress my children I killed a real buffalo later on in the day with my bare hands. Buffalo die easy if you punch them between the eyes (possibly true).

With our buffalo’s devoured we headed for home. Thank you Set for the beautiful day!
