Day's Detention For Eating an Apple

An honour student in England has been given detention and threatened expulsion for eating an apple in the wrong place:
ANGRY parents have slammed a headmaster after a pupil got a detention for eating an APPLE in the wrong place.

Tom Bosley, 16, was nearly expelled over the incident.
This is news, you ask? Not really, slow news day and all, but let's see if we can make a big deal out of it anyway:
Mr Richardson said Tom had been punished for eating the apple outside a designated area, which he said was a breach of health and safety regulations.

He said: All students are aware of this rule and the consequences of not adhering to it.

Tom was given a 30-minute detention in the next lunch hour.

But students only find they are in detention if they check a noticeboard at Kings of Wessex Community School in Cheddar, Somerset, and Tom who is predicted to get 11 A-grade GCSEs didn't realise he had been punished.

So he got an after-school detention but refused to go in protest and was ordered to spend a day in a supervised learning unit.

Tom was warned he would be expelled if he didn't attend.
Apparently, *All* the parents are upset, calling the detention "Ludicrous", "way too harsh", and "Sexy" (yes, I made the sexy part up). Parents also feel that the punishment should fit the crime.

I know it seems silly to punish a boy for eating an apple outside the designated eating area, but let's face it, the rules are the rules. Just because Tom is an honour student doesn't mean he's exempt from the rules, he has to abide by them, just like the stupid kids have to. As for the punishment fitting the crime, the punishment did fit the crime, but Tom chose to be a hero and fight the system, and the system put Tom in his place. Zing.

Tom had options, but he chose to ignore the rules and got caught. The rules of this school are for everyone to see. The rules of eating at a designated area are known by the entire populace of the school. Tom decided to eat outside of the designated area and got caught. Boo hoo Tom, you apple rebel, fly straight or get detention, you know the rules.

If Tom and his parents don't like the rules, they are free to leave the school at any time, they have the freedom to do so. If they feel as if they want to abide by the rules like everyone else at the school, Tom needs to sit in the designated eating area and shut the fuck up and eat his stupid apple. Don't be such a revolutionary, Tom, look what happened to Adam and Eve when they effed with an apple.

An apple a day keeps the headmaster away
