Tuesday Trivia, June 3, 2008

The minion responsible for Trivia Tuesday has been replaced, upgraded by an improved series G model with field modifications. Points are awarded at five (5) carbon credits per correct answer, to a maximum of thirty (30) points per person per post. Five (5) bonus points are available at the discretion of the judges. Judges' identity is to be kept secret, in accordance with the secret agenda.

The questions:

1) True or False: The British and French used cylinders to deliver gas; the Germans used shells.

2) True of False: The use of the tourniquet, discouraged in recent medical practice, is making a come back.

3) In astrology, which sign is considered the first of the zodiac?

4) In Latin, the nominative case is used for what part of speech?

5) Would backing up over a cyclist after you hit them with your car be considered leaving the scene of an accident?

Last week * :

1) In chess, are you permitted to castle after being placed in check? No.

2) In astrology, which house is called 'the house of self-undoing'? The twelfth house.
3) How many stereoisomers of sugar (monosaccharide) are there? Eight.

4) During the second world war, in what country was located the production facilities for the Panzer II? Poland. These factories were built after the fall of Poland.

5) If you are confronted by a bear (hungry, angry, or otherwise), you should:

a) try to understand their viewpoint
b) encourage more spending on bear habitat protection
c) rub your own feces in your hair and form dreadlocks so as to engender sympathy in the bear
d) try to act like a moose, deer, or elk
e) shot the creature in the heart

Any combination of answers that do not include ‘e’ are correct. You could also try rubbing mayonnaise or mustard on your clothes in lieu of feces.

I, Fenris Badwulf, wrote this.

Since we are starting fresh (as the notes kept by the faceless minion are damaged by fire), everyone starts at a politically correct zero. March or Die!
