6 Year old boy suspended for bringing butter knife to school
The horrors. It's sickening when you think about it, this child could have buttered his whole class to death.
Everything about this is ridiculous.
I'd like to ring the teachers neck for squealing on the child, what kind of a person can't distinguish between an actual weapon and a butter knife? The child is SIX YEARS OLD, the teacher in my mind deserves a good thrashing.
The principal has discretion on whether or not to suspend the child, and he chose to suspend the poor critter.
Can you imagine the trauma this must be causing the little boy? Now he will be have this on his *confidential file* forever.
The No Tolerance policy is a sham. I hear an awful lot of stories like this, and it proves something to me; teachers, principals, and *educators* can be power hungry assholes who have very little common sense and little discretion.
We're talking about a frickin' butter knife here, everyone involved in *sentencing* this child should be ashamed of themselves, they are nothing more that pathetic, demented heads.

Gray, who is 6, said he brought his book bag to school on Monday, but when he set it down, one of his family's butter knives fell out onto the cafeteria floor. A teacher walked up to question him.The parents of the boy are filing suit to prevent the suspension.
Gray told the teacher he wasn't sure how the knife got there. His family thinks his 4-year-old brother, Ben, put it there.
The school now plans to give the boy a one-day in-school suspension as part of its "no tolerance" weapons policy.
