Aly Hindy, Upstanding Canadian Citizen

Here's more proof that reading Dust My Broom makes you smarter. I wrote a post today regarding Scarborough Imam, Aly Hindy, and his threats against the Canadian public if our Government doesn't stop *terrorising* the Moslem community. Darcey, at the Broom, links Arabian Dissent who answers the question, "who is Aly Hindy?"

As the Globe Article points out, Aly Hindy is the head of Scarborough's Salaheddin Islamic Centre. What it did'nt point out is that the founding director of the mosque was none other than Hassan Farhat.

As the Red Star explains to us, CSIS believes Mr. Farahat is directly linked to Al-Qaida:

Now he's been named as a key commander of a terrorist group linked to Al Qaeda that's fighting against the Americans in Iraq.

The allegation was made this week by Jim Judd, director of Canada's spy service.

Hassan Farhat, known as Abdul Jaber to security officials and Abu Khalid to friends, was a landed immigrant who left Canada in October 2001 to return to Iraq.

Of course it doesn't end there, there's always more:

And of course we all know the Khadrs, Canada's favourite terrorist family. Is that all, you ask? Of course not, it never seems to end:

Mr. Hindy is ALSO a very good friend of suspected terrorist, Amer el-Maati:

Let's have a look at another upstanding world citizen, one Amer el-Maati, courtesy of Free Will Blog .

Mr. El-Maati was arrested upon his arrival in Damascus two months after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.

Prior to his travelling to the Middle East, the RCMP and other agencies kept close tabs on him and placed him on a global watch list as a possible terrorist.

In August, 2001, Mr. El-Maati complained of having been stopped at the Canada-U.S. border and interrogated. Guards seemed especially interested in a map of Ottawa found in his truck, said to have been a schematic drawing with circled government buildings.

The imam said that the RCMP faxed a copy of Mr. El-Maati's will to Egyptian authorities, following raids the police force executed in Canada.

There was a reference to meeting "Mohamed and his companions" in death -- a phrasing the imam said is standard in Islam, but could have been construed as a pledge of violent martyrdom by Mr. El-Maati.
